Need an External Drive Black Friday is coming!

I use the kind of internal drives that are used in workstation desk tops, except that I use them externally!

My recommendation as to the kind of drives are:

Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001
You can get them in 1, 2 or 3 terabytes sizes
Or
Western Digital WD Black, Red or Green and they
also comes in 1, 2 or 3 terabyte sizes

You’ll need some kind of an enclosure or case for the hard drive:

I use a Rosewill RX-DU300 2.5" & 3.5" USB 3.0 Hard Drive Docking Bay
Or you can get a
Thermaltake BlacX ST0005U

But, there is a wide variety of enclosures available. I like the docking variety as there is no assembly required and it is easy to swap drives! They connect via USB, Get one that uses USB 3.0

Just make sure the enclosure can hold a 3.5 inch esata drive and can handle the terabyte capacity of the drive … most enclosures can handle up to 2 terabytes…

Here is a bunch of enclosures listed as available at newegg.com
http://www.newegg.com/External-Enclosures/SubCategory/ID-92

The next step up is to get and use a “RAID”

RAID

(Redundant Array of Independent Disks), a system of multiple hard drives for sharing or replicating data

Search for these on Google or the search engine of your choice…Black Friday is coming… prices should drop in the next few weeks…

Enjoy!!!

Offline Translation for Google Translate is now Available!

As we all know, Google Translate works on a web application and on mobile application that needs an internet connection. Good thing, Google announced that offline transalation is now available for Google Translate app for Android with offline language packages (available on Android 2.3 and above).

For you to use the offline translation, you need to download and install language pack you needed. Although it is said to be limited if you use the offline translation, it is still better to have an access to the service with or without an internet connection.

If you already have Google Translate, you can update your application else download it here.

Opera is now a Chinese company after 600 million sale

Opera (and its browser) is now a Chinese company, after $600 million sale What’s a browser with 10 percent of the mobile market worth? $600 million, apparently. A consortium of Chinese companies led by Qihoo 360 purchased the browser and several other Opera assets, including the company’s name. Qihoo 360 is known in China for its mobile app store and anti-virus software. The US NSA probably wont be happy as a browser is a powerful Internet tool (the end-to-end encryption starts and ends here) and any existing NSA backdoors will now be switched for Chinese backdoors (Im stating this slightly tongue in cheek but it was amusing when the NSA were all out warning everyone not to buy Hauwei or ZTE network devices a few years back, when the key reason was that the NSA would have lost their own backdoors that were supposedly implanted in Cisco and other US network equipment, if it had been replaced with Chinese network routers and switches). A valid concern raised in the article though is what will happen to the VPN technology in the Opera browser? Can it be trusted in future? Could it be trusted in the past? See http://ift.tt/29JBDzY

NEWLY LANCHED GOOGLE SEARCH APP FOR iOS DEVICES IS NOW AVAILABLE

And finally Google just made it official as she launches the new google search application on iphone and other devices using iOS. This means users of iOS gadget like iphone, and ipad can conveniently make use of Google search and display Google search result. like they will do on their web browser. The app bears similar looks and feel with the Android Google search app.

This serves as a stepping stone that shows more Google products and app will now be available for iOS Users as well. The main differences between Android and iOS are few, mainly in that iOS can display fewer different kinds of cards. "The types of Google Now cards available are largely the same on both platforms," says Baris Gultekin, Director of Product Management for Google Now.

Differences betwwen the new iOS Search App and that of Android

On iOS, it is so imposible to launched the Google Search app with a system-wide shortcut (unless you are a jail breaker) and it cant do the same kind of background sync that Now can do on Android. However, Google tells us that it will support the iOS background location feature, so that at least it wont need to spend as long hunting for your position when you open up the Search app. It also wont use iOS notification system to push high-priority Now alerts as you can do on Android. 22 of the 29 card types available on Android are making their way to iOS, and the few holdouts include airline boarding passes, Fandango, and local events. Google Now will be able to display your next available appointment, but it will only pull that information from your Google Calendar, not the local calendar.

Android, of course, allows Google Now to be accessed with a swipe-up or long-press of a button on some phones, but its worth pointing out that it might actually be available on fewer devices than on iOS thanks to minimum OS requirements.

Apples hardware, Googles cloud services

Google has long said that it wants to make its services available on as many platforms as possible, but recent moves indicate that, when it comes to mobile, those platforms mainly include iOS and Android. Its notable that Google isnt holding back some of its best service features as Android exclusives, but Gultekin points out that Google still believes that Android offers a superior feature set for its products: "As with many Google products, Android (and Nexus devices) always give you the best Google experience, but we aim to make our services available to as many people as possible. Android offers more integration opportunities than iOS." Even so, the number and quality of Googles apps on iOS mean that heavy Google services users dont have as much incentive as they once did to stick with an Android device.

The updated Google Search app with Google Now is available in Apples App Store now.

Opera Mini vs UC browser Which Is The Best

If you think about mobile browsers, first 2 browsers pops out in your mind is Opera Mini vs UC browser. No confusion !! i try to help you to teach the special features in these two browsers.

we can differentiate based on its speed, compatibility, size downloading,RAM etc.,

Surfing speed:

This is the main thing you have to know.when comparing the browsing speed.

Uc browser

uc browser is try to load the flash contents also so it take more time than the operamini

Opera mini

Opera mini used the image compression method.so its load very fast than the uc browser

Quality of images

Image quality is very must in the browsing line.Because if we study the content with images,we can remember better

UC browser

Image clarity is very clear than the opera mini

Opera mini

Image clarity is less than the uc browser but you can see the images

Downloading section

Everybody likes downloading and they do it.so its one of the common thing.

uc browser

Downloading is perfect !!! In uc browser you can also pause the download file and resume it.Another main advantage is you can see the downloading speed.you know!!! this is the your REAL internet speed that you can check it out here !!!

Opera mini

You cannot see the browsing speed and downloading section looks very normal

RAM

Do you have the behaviour to check the task manager. There you can see that how much Mb every apps utilizing .sometimes it decide your mobile speed.Multitasking takes place here !!! More ram you have, more apps you can run on a same time.

so when comparing ram Opera mini takes very less ram !!!

Size of the apps

You know the size of the opera mini is less than 1mb only !!! can you believe !!! check it out on play store

So what is better !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Use the Opera mini for the speed and comfort

Use the UC Browser for the quality of browsing and downloading

I recommend to use Both browsers !!!

Please Comment what you like !!!

ND3D Is that possible 18KB SWF for MD2 animation

What?

- I use Away3D for web site, but sometime i do need smallest kb for banner limited size somehow (blame slow speed connection here ;)

Then?

its 2 options in my mind
1. Away3D : scale down by ripping no use class there
2. ND3D : implement MD2 animation by mod existing class by Philippe Ajoux (Wheres he now btw?)
the 2nd choice look...more challenge ;D

Result?

- its quite easy to implement MD2 parser there cause ND3D is quite simply to understand, after 1 night pass by, here is 18k swf : http://sleepydesign.com/labs/as3/ND3D/MD2

More?

- thats it! actually its not much class added, also not much line changed/mod so swf size still small ever!
- it can be optimize somehow, nothing optimize yet really ;)
- it can be smaller, but 18kb already fine to me

Source?

- i forget to mention early, my F10 test and also this MD2 animation source code already sent to Lars, so do beg him if you really need them (sorry Lars i know you busy, dont blame me here ;P )

Next?

- hmm, dont know yet...maybe hello world PureMVC or maybe more F10 test ;P

New House is coming along

as you can see on this You Tube video that my son-in-law uploaded from his phone. Amazing these new technologies...makes connecting and sharing of information so easy-peasy.
I now have roof shingles going on and windows and exterior doors.

Its been cool here in Tampa Florida these first days of January...and all my "sweaters and warm stuff" are packed in storage. I am glad Im here versus back home in Buffalo...but at least in Buffalo - I had gotten used to "layering" and had plenty of turtlenecks etc. Seeing the Bills game (Woo-hoo we won!) on Sunday versus the Colts with the Snow coming down and covering the field, brought back lots of memories (my husband and I were season ticket holders for 20 years) but also made me feel "colder" without all my winter Bills gear on...
it was only about 52 degrees for a "high" on Sunday and breezy...so the wind chill was "chillin" My dd and dsil went to the Tampa Bay Bucs game and had gloves, hats, and warm jackets on.

Heres a pic of me and the kids with their other grandma who is visiting from Texas - we went out to the Tampa Lowry Zoo to see the Christmas Lights and Zoo at night. *I have 4 layers on ;-)

Music Memos is a songwriters best friend iMore

Music Memos for iOS is a songwriters best friend They say the best camera is the one you have with you, but they dont usually mention anything about audio recording. "Music Memos offers so many ways of organizing my clips that Im finding myself recording more just because I can. As I progress through a song I can tag the recordings with the songs name, ensuring that a search for "Elevators" will return all of the clips I recorded for that song. Each recording also gets a name and a star rating, so I can keep everything, refer to earlier recordings if needed, and no longer rely on date-based grouping to keep it all together, or wonder which if the ten clips in the group was the one I liked most." There is also a robust tagging system, a guitar tuner, chord and tempo detection, exporting to GarageBand, and magical automatic backing instruments (Record your song the way you normally would, and the app will put drums and/or bass behind it). Offline Cpa Marketing Is A Hot New Trend Self Service Cpa

Self Service CPA

That pretty much sums it up.
Look, if you’re a solid self-starter that wants to just figure it out as you go, you probably don’t need this guide.
Go ahead and beat your head against the wall until you get it right..
you probably will,
eventually
.
Or, if you want to skip all that crap, and save yourself some time (and lots of money) by learning from my experience as a successful leads broker, then listen up!
My name is James, I’ve been doing this gig for a good 5 years now, successfully. And believe me, there have been some bumps and bruises along the way.
I’m not here to deal with the get-rich-overnight crowd, the dreamers, the serial product buyers, the paralysis-of-analysis types, or anyone who otherwise isn’t going to
ACT
on the information I’m providing.
I’m going to give it to you straight, without the hype and the bullshit.
No lie.
I spent the better part of those 5 years learning
exactly what I’m going to teach you in this guide
. I’m talking about the nitty gritty stuff. The stuff that REALLY matters.
I took my knowledge of internet marketing, CPA marketing, affiliate marketing, and combined it all into one power packing system that allowed me to sell leads to local businesses for many times what I would have been paid online. I’m talking about $25-$95 per LEAD (
NOT per SALE
).
Do the math on that real quick. At $25 a lead, you’re talking about a measly 100 leads per month to reach an income level that MOST people could afford to quit their day jobs on. And 100 leads is NOT hard to do.
You’re not trying to sell people anything, you’re just asking them to sign up on a website.
Let’s back it up for a second, though.
“How do you find a company to sell these leads to?”
Well, take a step back and ask yourself this question:
If I were a business owner and someone approached me with the ability to cherry pick names out of a hat and turn them into clients without having to do any of the foot work, wouldn’t I be a FOOL not to take them up on it?
Yes. You would be.
Although I admit, this is the hardest part about this way of earning money, it’s really not difficult to do at all.
“Ok, so how do I build a site to capture leads?”
Relax, buddy.. I show you precisely how I use, what I call an Authority Niche Site, to capture dozens of leads on autopilot…
And before you ask
, I also show you how to
track
,
deliver
,
invoice
, and
get paid
for all of that too!

Our Emery Grace is 2

We took out Emery to do her 2 year portraits. Taking pictures of your own children is always a challenge, even for me. A 2 year old with no nap and molars coming in makes it even harder.

She would not sit so I could fluff her tutu, she would not twirl so I could catch some whimsy! She ran from me, laughed when I couldnt get her and played with her doll. Even though she was uncooperative, I managed to capture exactly who my child is. Those are the photos were going to want to look at in the future anyway.

NTLDR is Missing Press any key to restar

Add caption

Mungkin Anda pernah menemukan pesan error “NTLDR is Missing” kadang ada tambahan “Press any key to restart”. Komputer tidak mau dihidup. Setelah ditekan tombol apapun cuman restart sambil terus menampilkan pesan error di atas. Apa yang terjadi?

Tenang, jangan panik.

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Professional” /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
- The system cannot find the file or directory spesified
- File not Found-boot.ini
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Professional” /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

6. Ada Harddisk baru yang baru dipasang
7. Boot sector/Master Boot Record rusak/hilang
8. File sistem Windows 2000 or Windows XP rusak atau terkorupsi
9. Kabel data Harddisk IDE/EIDE cacat atau rusak
Berikut ini langkah pemecahannya:
Pilihan 1: Menggunakan Recovery Console Windows
1. Boot komputer dari CD instalasi Windows XP
2. Pilih opsi Repair(R) dengan menekan tombol R
3. Setelah masuk pada Command Prompt Windows (Layar berubah berwarna hitam dengan tulisan putih) Pilih sistem operasi dengan menekan tombol 1 kemudian [Enter]
4. Jika ada, masukkan password Administrator. Jika tidak ada, langsung tekan [Enter]

Pilihan 2: Menggunakan File Recovery.

fixntldr.zip = file-file yang hilang

Anda punya pengalaman lain?

No painting is a waste of time!

I found few, if any, paintings are a waste of time. Like canvas #910, small at 44x40, potentially a nice work, suffered multiple interruptions and eventually lost its way. I have step-photos to prove it! We gotta take the bad with the good so here it is. I promise, the good is here, somewhere!

SESSION 1

910-1 44x40
Using gold leaf as a decorative detail

SESSION 2

910-2 Progress

SESSION 3

910-3 Progress

Detail of gold leaf
SESSION 4
(3) STAGES OF DESATURATION

I was curious if repeated colour washes in pale pinks and blue would accomplish less saturation without losing any depth of field. In the end Im not sure it added anything. It probably did kill some of the depth.

910 Koi & Twig 44x40 oil on linen 7-16-14

The design idea, using a life size top view of a Koi - basically filling the canvas as I did here was on target, but my execution failed miserably. The painting is much too decorative, dull and boring for my taste as a painter of light!

I just need a fresh start and here it is....:=)

Northrop Grumman Foundation 2016 Fab School Labs Contest Now Open for Submissions

Starting May 1, public middle schools can enter for a chance to win one of five grants up to $100,000 each to fund a dream technology lab or science classroom

FALLS CHURCH, Va. –May 4, 2016 – The Northrop Grumman Foundation is welcoming submissions now through June 17, 2016 for the second year of its Fab School Labs online contest. The school lab makeover contest provides public middle schools with an opportunity to make their ideal state-of-the-art science lab a reality with grants of up to $100,000 each.

The Northrop Grumman Foundation invites teachers, principals and school administrators to enter their eligible school by visiting www.FabSchoolLabs.com, where they can learn about the contest and submit their application, along with photos and video to help tell their story. Finalist schools will be chosen and their videos will receive online votes of support through the Fab School Labs Facebook page to assist with the final selection process. The winning schools will then team up with Fab School Labs contest partner, Flinn Scientific Inc., to design a state-of-the-art science lab or classroom complete with all of the tools, resources and furnishings needed to incorporate new and innovative methods and subject matter.

The contest is designed to drive students’ interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by giving public middle school teachers and school administrators the chance to create the STEM lab of their dreams and provide students access to the latest learning tools and technologies that will stimulate as well as teach.

Inadequate funds to purchase equipment and an overall lack of facilities are frequently cited problems by teachers and educators as it relates to science and mathematics education at the elementary and middle school level, according to the National Science Board and other education sources.

“It is an honor to once again offer five schools, teachers and their students the chance to receive a new, state-of-the-art science lab or classroom,” said Sandra Evers-Manly, vice president, global corporate responsibility, Northrop Grumman, and president, Northrop Grumman Foundation. “The amount of support received from students, teachers and the communities by our 2015-2016 winners was overwhelming, and we look forward to rallying more communities during the 2016-2017 school year.”

In addition to the website, teachers are also encouraged to follow the competition at www.Facebook.com/FabSchoolLabs.

Northrop Grumman and the Northrop Grumman Foundation are committed to expanding and enhancing the pipeline of diverse, talented STEM students globally. They provide funding to sustainable STEM programs that span from preschool to high school and through collegiate levels, with a major emphasis on middle school students and teachers. In 2015, Northrop Grumman and the Northrop Grumman Foundation continued education outreach efforts by contributing more than $17 million to diverse STEM-related groups such as the Air Force Association (CyberPatriot), Conservation International (ECO Classroom), the REC Foundation (VEX Robotics), National Science Teachers Association and the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering. My highschool class is having a reunion!

Coming up this Summer in July 2010 - Oh NO!!! - It cant really be 45 years since I graduated can it?????
I barely can remember 10 yrs ago, let alone 45!!

I attended Riverside Highschool in Buffalo NY from 1961 to 1965. I cant say I was popular or an honor student or did much of anything much worth remembering. But I do have fond memories of those short 4yrs. I got my love for Football watching our beloved "Frontiers" play and win in 4 Harvard Cup championships.

I met my very best friend in my homeroom (no. 57) and she is still my best friend ;-). In our senior year she introduced me via a blind date to my sweet Paul. So shes been part of my life for over 45 yrs now.

If anyone who visits my blog is actually from Buffalo and maybe even a fellow class of 65er - you can find information about the upcoming reunion at:

http://riversidehs65.com

See too this facebook page created to share memories of fellow Riversiders for folks who used to hang out in the neighborhood. I lived on Crowley Ave and remember well lots of places in the Neighborhood: Murts, Riversides Mens Shop, the movie theater which became Ski-Dek!, Kobackers, Norbins, Acme Supermarket, the A&P on Ontario Street, Manleys, Tonys Deli...etc etc.

Well if I am going to be making the trip back to Buffalo to attend this shindig, I best get that diet started so I have time to lose the 45 lbs I have gained since graduation...amazing 1 pound for each year - at this rate - I will be too big to fit in an airplane seat for going to our 60th reunion ;-).

We are the Frontiers, Mighty Mighty Frontiers, Everywhere we go people wanna know, who we are so we tell them - we are the Frontiers mighty mighty Frontiers!
