My iPad Jailbroken

I decided to try upgrading to iOS 6.1 after backing up my iPad using iTunes on Windows. At the first attempt, the upgrade failed and it stucked on recovery mode and i have to restart the process again. The second time attempt worked.

Since it was about time i go to my office, i decided to perform the jailbreak later when i got home at the evening. My iPad was still running pure iOS 6.1 at that point. So far so good, all of my data is recovered using the backup earlier.

At night, i performed the jailbreak using Evasi0n from Evad3rs team and its so simple as usual. It will close iTunes and then performing the jailbreak once we click on the button. It requires only several manual steps performed by the users and its so simple. All you have to do is read the instructions on the Evasi0n tool.

After completing the jailbreak process, it will reboot several times to upload Cydia and the repository as well and you are done. You just need to click on the Cydia and it will perform an initial process of preparing the filesystem for Cydia and then you can start installing applications from Cydia repository.

Big thanks to Evad3rs team who have done another great release on bringing untethered jailbreak to iDevices for iOS 6.x :)

Panasonic Lumix DMC FS4 and my new blog

I started a new blog last week: wayne-ayearinpictures.blogspot.com

Its part of my creative new-years resolution to take more pictures. If I stick to it (and so far so good), then I will have to take at least one new photograph every day, for the rest of the year. Thats a lot more than I took last year, and although rather daunting, its started very well.

It has also meant that I now make sure I always have a camera with me. And for the sake of ease-of-use and sheer portability, that was always going to be a compact point-and-shoot. My weapon of choice is the Panasonic Lumix DMC - FS4 (and no, I dont know what all those letters stand for either?!)

But when I say weapon of choice, what Im really saying is that its the only point-and-shoot I own. I purchased it late last year on a whim (because it was cheap, and came with heaps of accessories), and Id be lying if I said I didnt experience a good amount of buyers remorse soon after purchasing it.

Dont get me wrong, I think Panasonic make some of the best point-and-shoots you can get. But the DMC-FS4 is the very basic, entry-level model with very limited user control. In fact, it really only functions using Scene modes. Pretty crap, I thought, and left it in the box.

But - now Ive got this new blog. And now I need to have a camera with me all the time. And now I have to actually use it. And boy, am I glad I did. Because it turns out the DMC-FS4 is an absolute cracker of a camera. A wee gem. And Im loving using it. Not to mention the results Im getting from it!

It may only have scene modes (and dozens of them), but they work brilliantly, and Im not disappointed by the results from such a cheap camera. It doesnt have an optical viewfinder (theyre junk on these wee compacts anyway), but does have a big, bright 2.5" lcd screen, with optional gridlines for aiding composition and keeping horizons straight. It also has image stabilization built-in (Panasonic call it Mega O.I.S.) as well as automatic ISO control - both working together to reduce blurry photos due to camera shake.

This was shot using the Panasonics macro setting (make sure the lens is set for wide angle otherwise macro doesnt work), and Im just amazed that it allowed me to capture the fly, let alone produce a sharp image. This tiny little fly was on the leaf for all of a nano second, yet the result is tack sharp on the fly, and beautifully soft in the background. Wow!

And it was by no means a fluke - I got dozens of useable images, just from half an hour spent at lunchtime chasing insects around the garden. I dont know, but I reckon Id be hard pressed to do that with my SLR?

But its not just the macros that have impressed me. Over the last 5 days Ive taken indoor and outdoor portraits under varying lighting conditions, as well as landscapes - all using the various scene modes - and the camera has handled it all brilliantly.

Even in standard mode, the colours are punchy and vibrant - the lens is sharp, contrasty and renders colour accurately. The exposures from the camera have been 99.9% accurate, without any need for exposure compensation (you can set +/- 2 stops), under some very tricky lighting conditions - from harsh sunlight to dark interiors. Check out my A Year in Pictures blog for more examples of what the Lumix has been producing for me over the last week.

For a point-and-shoot camera that I was initially disappointed in due to its perceived lack of control, the Panasonic Lumix has turned out to be a stellar performer - under all conditions. Yes, Im sure it has its limitations. Id love for the lens to go a little wider (its a 33-132mm equivalent lens), and the ability to shoot RAW - but having said that, the jpegs it produces with its 8MP sensor look gorgeous! Id also like it to be heavier - not so much plastic - but keep the same size (very pocketable).

Yet despite all that, and much to my surprise, Im loving using the Panasonic DMC-FS4. And given that I have to take at least one image, every day, for the next 360 days, I hope to become even more impressed by this pocket-sized picture maker. If youre on the look out for a cheap, but very capable little point-and-shoot, then look no further than the Lumix DMC-FS4.

Not in my name

Here we go again, the US and UK, together with France, are once again hell bent on destabilising an entire region by planning a premeditated invasion against the government of Syria. Only this time, in support of Jihadist opposition led by al Qaeda. You know, the people who kinda hate us. So it kinda makes you wonder what the fuck is our PM drinking when he comes out to support al Qaeda.

In the meantime, we are slowly groomed by our media, particularly the BBC, Guardian, Independent and Times (thanks to this little Orwellian system known as the DA-Notice), into believing that entering the war is necessary based on a lie. Fortunately many of us still remember when our governments lied to us about Iraqs none-existent Weapons of Mass Destruction program. Again, no solid evidence, just warmongering by governments finding an excuse to justify lining up the pockets of the military industry. Remember David Kelly?

I would think that if anyone used chemical weapons, it would be the al Qaeda rebels, who has access to our governments chemical weapons stoke piles. And since when do we take the moral high ground? US attacks on thousands of innocent civilians using drones are absolutely okay, last I read.

You cant fault al Qaeda for the shrewd way in which they managed to lead every western powers and their media buddies to their cause, especially after how successful they were with the Libya campaign (by bombing civilians with the help of NATO). Convince the US and UK to take down Assad and once he is gone, they can then take over the country and whatever weapons left behind. Hook, line and sinker.

It amazes me that our government is willing to close schools, hospitals and fire stations but they suddenly have billions to go on another jolly war to appease some arm manufacturer buddies of theirs. Still it is hopeless. This unelected government is hell bent on going on another war whether we approve or not. If this sparks World War III, then well, we told you so. Except we would all probably be dead by then.

This is frightening stuff. But I see Barack Obama and David Cameron, like their past predecessors, George Bush and that psychopath Tony Blair, havent got a clue. Will our governments ever learn? Evidently not.

NEW !! Cara menghapus virus !My Picutre !My Picture

cara menghapus virus !My Picture

4. masukkan flashdisk anda kedalam port komputer
5. setalah itu, tunggu sampai tampilan desktop muncul, lalu, masuk ke windows exploler dan hapus virus di flashdisk anda seperti menghapus file biasa.
6. selamat, flashdisk anda sudah bersih dari yang namanya virus !My picture A.K.A !my picture
Ciaooooo.
semoga berhasil……!!!!!!

My Netflix Christmas

A belated Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. This past Christmas holiday we discovered Netflix. To be honest, Ive never been a fan of streaming services, but for only £5.99 a month, we were able to escape the dreadful fodder put out by the terrestrial television services.

The film catalogue isnt expansive, but it was still enough to get us through, but what we did find awesome was the number of TV series on it that we use to catch up. As someone who could never get past the second season of Lost, this allowed me to catch up. In fact I might just finally be able to get through the entire series after all. Newer series are missing, but big hitters like Dexter, 24, Californication, Weeds and Firefly are all on it. Also, old classics like MacGyver and Knight Rider, which will surely win us old timers.

Netflix for Windows Phone

Rather surprisingly, despite the low price, there were a number of newer films on the service as well. The Woman in Black, Warrior and the ridiculously stylish Drive appeared to be popular films on Netflix. Still, its primary strength appears to be a mixture of quality rather than quantity. You wouldnt find big new blockbusters on Netflix, but combined with Amazons LoveFilm, the two services together do make an effective argument against the monopoly that is Sky.

I am however surprised by the complete lack of any good  or well known childrens movie, particularly that time of the year. I would have assumed that Netflix could have negotiated with a couple of studios for a short term license during the Christmas period. It is rather odd considering there is a kids specific section on Netflix (this isnt supported on mobile apps). I know Disney doesnt like to whore out their classic titles, but it is still disappointing.

Netflix for Android

The interface shared by both the PS3 and Android app are simple and similar (the Windows Phone app follows the Metro design language), but the discovery process leaves much to be desired. There is a search functionality built in, but it isnt particularly effective. All apps support resume and subtitles (where available). It is a stream only service, so you cant download and watch later, but for £5.99 I wont complain much. However it does put a damper on the ability to stream shows on train journeys that takes us through areas with patchy mobile network coverage.

I have never been a particular fan of stream only services due to UKs archaic internet network, but I cant fault its conveniences. On a technical side, films are streamed in either 480p, 720p or 1080p depending on bandwidth and device and up to 5.1 surround sound depending on availability. From the quality I have been getting on both the Lumia 920 and my PS3, the image quality appears to sit well above DVD but well below Blu-Ray. Services like Netflix is no where near replacing disc-based media in terms of pure quality just yet, but it is fine for casual viewing for those keen on lightening their collection.

The future is streaming, that much is certain. But its not a complete replacement, at least not until our internet infrastructure improves vastly and film studios change the way they handle distribution of new movies. In the meantime, for £5.99, Netflix is still a pretty big win for casual TV viewers.
