One Thousand what does that mean

One Thousand what does that mean

Pondering canvas 1000 is giving me a headache, like a commission might. Im not in the mood for a grand canvas as I supposed it should be......but then I havent really started yet. Right now, a good one session painting would make me happy enough. Yet, I know nothing is certain until the first piece of paint hits the canvas.

The next canvas could mark my last or the beginning of a new phase....perhaps a better way to think about it. Benchmarks are weighted towards reflection on the past than the future... I certainly dont want another 1000 like the last. It would be like tasting the same meal over and over again. Not to mention the storage requirements and more numbers.

I also think if this was not one of those special numbers the next painting would be just that, the next painting with a number. All this made me wonder what others thought about one thousand.

So I Googled it, and since I understand images better than words I found myself in images.

MONEY - Everyone gets this one
 IN A SIMPLE FORM
THOUSAND MILES + = POUNDING STIMULATION
AN ARCHITECT & 1000 MUSEUM MIAMI ADDRESS
A PICTURE = A 1000 WORDS
ON THE CHEAP PENNY STACKS
HUMOR

Might be fun to summarize these Google images down to a few meaningful words other than Websters lame definition only a bean counter would get off on.

Art costs big money, project our aspirations, a certain simplicity with pounding force, good structure and design executed on the cheap with a bit of humor thrown in......works for me:=)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

On that Microsoft Nokia sale

On that Microsoft Nokia sale

By now you would have read countless of op-eds about Nokias sale of their phone division to Microsoft. Suffice to say I have nothing to add, except that I am glad that we will still be getting Nokia phones, one way or another. Sure, phones with Nokia as a brand will go away eventually, but that would happen if Microsoft doesnt buy them anyway.

In fact, this whole sale reminds me of IBMs sale of their PC division to Lenovo. Many ThinkPad fans, like me, were understandably concerned that Lenovo would not have treated the brand with enough respect. Fortunately that hasnt been the case. Long time ThinkPad designers stayed on, and today Lenovo makes some of the best ThinkPad laptops we have ever seen. The same can happen with Nokias phone division if handled properly.

It will be a while before we will see the benefits from the sale. But heres hoping that Nokias phone hardware engineers and Microsofts software engineers will work closer than ever. Past Lumia hardwares has always been hampered by Microsofts lack of dedication to the Windows Phone platform, so a hardware division that could exert some influence on Microsofts software division will do some good.

In any case, this sale will at least gives us hope for a Lumia Surface phone with stonking good camera.

ND3D Is that possible 18KB SWF for MD2 animation

ND3D Is that possible 18KB SWF for MD2 animation

What?

- I use Away3D for web site, but sometime i do need smallest kb for banner limited size somehow (blame slow speed connection here ;)

Then?

its 2 options in my mind
1. Away3D : scale down by ripping no use class there
2. ND3D : implement MD2 animation by mod existing class by Philippe Ajoux (Wheres he now btw?)
the 2nd choice look...more challenge ;D

Result?

image- its quite easy to implement MD2 parser there cause ND3D is quite simply to understand, after 1 night pass by, here is 18k swf : http://sleepydesign.com/labs/as3/ND3D/MD2

More?

- thats it! actually its not much class added, also not much line changed/mod so swf size still small ever!
- it can be optimize somehow, nothing optimize yet really ;)
- it can be smaller, but 18kb already fine to me

Source?

- i forget to mention early, my F10 test and also this MD2 animation source code already sent to Lars, so do beg him if you really need them (sorry Lars i know you busy, dont blame me here ;P )

Next?

- hmm, dont know yet...maybe hello world PureMVC or maybe more F10 test ;P
