Multiplatform Development Tools for Mobile Apps

Multiplatform Development Tools for Mobile Apps

We’re tired of developing only for Android – now we are venturing into multi-platform development tool. Why? Once we release an Android app, immediately there’s this question; When would you release the iPhone version? This somehow or rather makes us a bit guilty. So we decided to go multiplatform from the first now on.

Currently we’re involved in apps development using Adobe Flash, the reason is because we have lots of resources (expert) on this tool.  There’re a lot more familiar names for multi-platform development out there; Xamarin, Phonegap, Titanium to name a few. Since most of our apps are multimedia heavy, so by right Flash could be suitable.

Adobe Flash has the capability to port Flash application into APK file, that can run on Android platform. Provided your Android device has Adobe Air installed (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adobe.air). This Adobe Air is the ‘interpreter’ of the APK file created by the Adobe Flash tools. AIR is the short form of . Frankly, we have this scepticism about Adobe Air technology. Why are there not many apps in Google Play developed with Adobe Air? This is may be a good question that can only be found out when we have tried releasing an app. Wait and see…

SO!, these are two of our new apps in beta (sadly still only for Android – we’ll release the iPhone version once we have our new App Store account, subject to approval).
